About Col du Donon
From the La Broque side, the Col du Donon takes you out of the Bruche valley and into the wooded Vosges. The trees give the ascent its character, keeping the ride focused on the road rather than on a distant skyline. At around nine kilometres, the approach is substantial without becoming an expedition.
The pass is the road's destination; the summit of the Donon is higher, and its temple is not your cycling finish. Enjoy the climb for what it is: a sustained lift out of the valley, with a moderate average gradient that leaves room to ride smoothly. It is a good ascent for finding a rhythm and letting the forest do the rest.
