About Le Chasseral
From Le Landeron, the ascent of Chasseral begins among the vineyards above Lake Biel before climbing towards Lignières. The first rise gives way to easier ground around the plateau, allowing the setting to widen before the mountain road steepens again. Farms, open slopes and patches of woodland divide the approach into recognisable stages. This route continues beyond the Col du Chasseral towards the summit antenna, making a longer ascent than the pass road alone.
Higher up, sustained climbing through the forest leads to open Jura pasture and the ridgeline. The road towards the hotel eases the effort, with the antenna still further along the crest. The final section gives the ride its sense of completion, bringing the wooded approach into a broad landscape above the lakes. On clear days the distant Alpine chain adds another scale to the view. Chasseral offers a varied climb with an expansive finish.
